I hope your October is going well. I have a new picture book that I had the pleasure to art direct and design to share that is recently published this month.The book is Zain’s Super Friday by Hena Khan and illustrated by Nez Riaz.

It’s a heart-warming story of an energetic boy named Zain and his father. When Friday comes along, Zain is ready to defeat alien invaders and wants his dad to join in on the fun, but his dad already has plans for Zain to attend his first jumu’ah prayers at their local mosque. This doesn’t deter Zain and he brings along his big imagination to the mosque.

As you might guess, his superhero imagining causes some distractions at the mosque, but Dad is there throughout to guide him through the service. And there’s a great surprise at the end of the story that will put a smile on your face.

It’s a book that both the young reader and the parent can relate to and it’s a delightful story. I suggest grabbing your favorite pumpkin treat and settling in to enjoy Zain’s Super Friday!
