A Home Again

picture book called A home Again

Do you remember Virgina Lee Burton’s Little House book? It’s a book from my childhood and I kept thinking about it while designing A HOME AGAIN by Colleen Rowan Kosinski and illustrated by Valeria Docampo.

Both books have charming houses as the main characters. In A HOME AGAIN, the story is told in the perspective of the house. The book begins with a family building the new house. The house adores all the sights, smells, and sounds of being a home.

When the original family has to sadly leave, the house is left to disrepair and is lonely. She wonders if she will ever be a home again. Soon though, a special couple appears and the house has a glimmer of hope that she will become a loving home once more.

It’s a modern heartfelt story paired with luscious illustrations. If the walls could talk is the old saying and this book offers one house’s sweet story.
